National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has expressed profound sorrow following the sudden death of Moses Muthama Nduya, son of former Machakos Senator and Public Service Commission (PSC) Commissioner Johnston Muthama and Senator Agnes Kavindu.
Speaking after visiting the bereaved family, Wetangula described the loss of a child as “the heaviest burden a parent can bear,” acknowledging the heartbreak that comes when a parent is forced to mourn a child before their natural time.
“Though we hope to be laid to rest by our children, God sometimes plans otherwise,” he said.
Wetangula, who also serves as Chairperson of the PSC, conveyed the commission’s heartfelt condolences, emphasizing that the tragic death has left the family in deep shock.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this painful moment,” he added, offering support on behalf of the National Assembly and PSC.
The Speaker was accompanied by senior PSC officials, including Commissioners Patrick Makau, Faith Gitau, Makali Mulu, Mwengi Mutuse, and Joshua Mwalyo.
They were joined by Senate Clerk and PSC Secretary Jeremiah Nyegenye and National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge, highlighting the solidarity extended by Kenya’s public service leadership during the family’s time of grief.
Wetangula concluded the visit with a solemn message of hope and remembrance, praying that the late Moses Muthama Nduya’s soul may rest in eternal peace.
The visit comes as friends, colleagues, and well-wishers continue to rally around the Muthama family, reflecting the wider public’s empathy and shared mourning over the untimely loss.
