Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has reignited public debate after raising sharp questions over the role of Oketch Salah in an ongoing dispute involving the family of the late ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a statement shared on X, Kabando argued that the matter has moved beyond a private family issue and now warrants public scrutiny.

Kabando’s remarks come amid heightened controversy surrounding Salah, a figure who has recently clashed with Raila Odinga’s immediate family, including his widow Ida Odinga, children Winnie Odinga and Raila Odinga Jnr.

The family has publicly questioned Salah’s involvement in ODM-related activities following Raila’s death.

In his statement, Kabando questioned why Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has appeared to defend Salah, while also raising concerns about what he termed possible “undercover links” between Salah and President William Ruto.

He further questioned Salah’s sudden prominence during what he described as Raila Odinga’s most vulnerable final days.

Kabando went further to ask why Salah has been representing President Ruto at public events linked to Raila Odinga shortly after the ODM leader’s death.

He also questioned claims that Salah has been financially supported to attend or organise ODM-related events, suggesting this occurred even before mourning activities had concluded.

“These issues are no longer private. They touch on public interest and the political integrity of ODM,” Kabando stated, calling for full disclosure on Raila Odinga’s final days.

He said a formal petition could be pursued to compel transparency on the circumstances surrounding Raila’s last period.
