President William Ruto has praised voters in Isiolo, Embu, and Kakamega counties after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) won all seats contested in the February 26 by-elections, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of the party’s national vision.
In a statement issued after the results were confirmed, the Head of State thanked residents of Isiolo South Constituency, West Kabras, Muminji, and Evurore wards for backing the ruling party’s candidates.
He said the victories demonstrate growing public confidence in UDA’s agenda and its long-term political direction.
Ruto congratulated Mohamed Tubi for winning the Isiolo South parliamentary seat, alongside Elphas Kainanga Shalakha (West Kabras Ward), Duncan Muratia Nyaga (Evurore Ward), and Peterson Njeru (Muminji Ward).
He said their election reflects the trust voters have placed in the party to deliver development and inclusive governance.
The president noted that the results reinforce UDA’s goal of building a strong national party capable of driving Kenya’s socio-economic transformation beyond generational interests.
He emphasized that the party remains focused on policies aimed at accelerating development and positioning the country for long-term prosperity.
"Thank you Isiolo South, West Kabras, Muminji, and Evurore for standing firmly with the United Democratic Alliance in yesterday’s by-elections. We are firmly on course to building a solid national political party whose vision goes beyond generations as we move Kenya to the first-world.
Congratulations Tubi Mohammed (Isiolo South Constituency), Elphas Kainanga Shalakha (West Kabras Ward), Duncan Muratia Nyaga (Evurore Ward) and Peterson Njeru (Muminji Ward) for your victory and the confidence the people have shown in you," the president said.
The by-elections were held to fill vacancies arising from the death of the Isiolo South MP and ward openings in Embu and Kakamega counties. Voting proceeded peacefully, though turnout remained modest in several polling stations.
