Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has declared his refusal to align with either the Broad-Based Government (BBG) or the United Opposition (UO) faction, calling instead for a focus on solutions to Kenya’s persistent socio-economic challenges.

Speaking on social media, Salasya emphasized that slogans and political cycles have done little to address pressing issues such as hunger, unemployment, and general citizen suffering.

“Hunger has no term limit. Unemployment has no term limit. Pain has no term limit,” he wrote, underscoring the urgency for practical leadership over political posturing.

The lawmaker urged Kenyans, particularly the youth, to engage beyond online discourse and take an active role in governance through voting, contesting for elective positions, and defending national interests.

Salasya called for a departure from the influence of political dynasties, tribal brokers, and recycled elites, advocating for a Kenya united by opportunity, justice, and development.

He criticized leaders who prioritize political survival over citizens’ welfare, arguing that such an obsession has left Kenya grappling with stagnation in key sectors.

Salasya insisted that citizens have a moral obligation to question leadership “peacefully, firmly, and intelligently” whenever governance fails to deliver.

“Kenya does not need noise; Kenya needs solutions,” Salasya stated, urging a shift toward issue-based politics and a focus on collective well-being.

He stressed that the future of the country belongs to the people, particularly the youth, and must be pursued lawfully, boldly, and responsibly.

Salasya’s remarks signal his intent to remain independent of entrenched political blocs, positioning himself as an advocate for pragmatic governance.

By steering away from traditional factional loyalty, Salasya aims to redefine political engagement in Mumias East, emphasizing accountability, opportunity, and inclusive leadership as cornerstones for Kenya’s next generation.
