Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday mourned the passing of his brother, Kelvin Mwendwa Musyoka, affectionately known as Meja, during a funeral service in Satu.
The gathering drew political leaders, family, and community members who came to pay their respects.
In an emotional eulogy, Kalonzo described his brother as a man of humility, integrity, and quiet strength.
“Kelvin valued family, respected others, and carried himself with dignity,” he said, noting that his brother’s presence was felt even though he never sought the limelight.
Kalonzo emphasized that Meja’s kindness, loyalty, and sincerity had left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
The funeral was attended by notable leaders including Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Kitui County Woman Representative Irene Kasalu, Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu, Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu, Advocate Ndegwa Njiru, and religious leaders like Apostle Musili, reflecting the wide respect Kelvin commanded.
Kalonzo expressed special condolences to Kelvin’s immediate family, particularly his wife Mary Mwendwa and son Fabian Mwendwa, acknowledging the profound loss they face.
“Mary, you have lost a husband and partner. Fabian, you have lost a father and guide,” he said, pledging family support to preserve Kelvin’s love and legacy.
Acknowledging the sense of an unfinished journey, Kalonzo said the family mourns not only the man but also the future they had envisioned for him. Despite the grief, he expressed gratitude for Kelvin’s life, the memories shared, and the lessons imparted.
The Wiper Party leader concluded by placing his trust in God to sustain and comfort the family during this season of sorrow.
“Rest well, my brother. Until we meet again,” he said, honoring Kelvin’s life and the bond they shared.
