Tech billionaire Elon Musk has weighed in on the long-running debate surrounding the so-called “Epstein files,” insisting he has played a leading role in pushing for their full release and the prosecution of those involved in child abuse.

In a statement shared on X, Musk said he anticipated strong backlash for demanding transparency around the case, including denial, counter-accusations, and personal attacks against him.

He argued that these reactions were expected from what he described as powerful interests and individuals seeking to avoid accountability.

The Epstein files refer to documents, court records, and testimonies linked to the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking network involving underage girls.

Epstein, who had close ties with wealthy and influential figures, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial, in what authorities ruled a suicide.

His death fueled public suspicion and intensified calls for the release of records that could reveal who else may have been involved or protected.

Musk stressed that he has no personal connection to Epstein or his activities.

He denied ever attending Epstein’s parties, flying on his private jet—often referred to as the “Lolita Express”—or visiting his private island in the Caribbean, where many of the alleged abuses were said to have occurred.

Despite what he described as “extreme pain” caused by accusations against him, Musk said he believes the personal cost was worth it if it helps protect vulnerable children.

He framed his stance as a moral obligation, arguing that those with power and influence have a duty to defend people who cannot protect themselves.

The remarks come amid renewed public interest in the Epstein case, following partial releases of court documents and continued pressure on U.S. authorities to make remaining files public.
