ODM party leader Oburu Odinga has urged members to prioritize unity and internal consultation following a meeting of the party’s Central Management Committee held in Vipingo, Kilifi.

The gathering came amid rising internal tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement.

Addressing committee members on Monday, Odinga emphasized the importance of collective engagement in shaping the party’s future.

“I convened this meeting in my capacity as Party Leader for a consultative discussion and engagement on emerging political and national issues,” he stated on X.

Odinga reaffirmed ODM’s commitment to principled leadership and maintaining open channels of communication with both party members and the wider Kenyan public.

“We remain firmly committed to internal consultation, unity of purpose, and principled leadership. We continue to listen to our members and the Kenyan people as we collectively shape the Party’s direction in the period ahead,” he added.

The Kilifi meeting also underscores ODM’s strategy of engaging directly with its leadership structures to strengthen decision-making and ensure that the party’s policies resonate with grassroots members.

Party insiders indicate that follow-up discussions and consultations will continue in the coming weeks to further solidify internal unity.

As ODM navigates internal disagreements, leaders like Oburu Odinga are signaling a renewed focus on collaborative leadership and maintaining the party’s standing as a key player in Kenya’s political landscape.
