Uasin Gishu County residents can now breathe a sigh of relief after detectives arrested three suspected members of a violent gang and recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with ten rounds of ammunition.

The firearm was discovered hidden in a thicket within the homestead of Titus Wainaina Njoroge, one of the suspects.

He, alongside Jeremiah Njuguna Kinyanjui, also known as Chikudee, and Patrick Kinuthia Mwangi, is accused of orchestrating a string of armed robberies and violent crimes across the county.

The arrests follow a well-coordinated operation by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), supported by the DCI Operations Unit and local officers in Uasin Gishu.

Investigators say the gang has been terrorising residents for years, using fraudulently acquired identities to evade law enforcement.

One of the gang’s most chilling crimes occurred on November 22, 2025, when they reportedly held a family hostage, stole their vehicle, and forced them to transfer money from mobile wallets.

In another violent incident on January 7, 2026, the suspects were linked to the murder of Richard Rotich, a pharmacist at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Titus Wainaina Njoroge, alias Bikos, has a lengthy criminal record, including previous robbery cases, attempted robberies, and multiple escapes from lawful custody in Eldoret and Langas.

The three suspects are currently being processed for arraignment in court as investigations continue.

Authorities have confirmed that operations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large, ensuring the county’s residents can finally feel safer.
