Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has accused President William Ruto of terrorising congregants during a church service in Nyeri County, following an incident involving former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at Witima ACK Church in Othaya on Sunday.

In a statement on X, Kabando said:

"William Ruto, for over 2 hours, you have terrorised Wìtima ACK, Othaya, congregants – infants, cùcùs and gukas, PLWDs, pastors, just to fight Rigathi Gachagua, our DCP Leader."

He invoked the church’s historical significance, adding, "ACK gave us Sanctuary 1992 when Moi fought Mothers of Political Prisoners.

Today, 2026, you Ruto have rained demons on us inside church."

Kabando accused the President of deliberate intimidation, describing the actions as politically motivated.

"Our pains, our tears, our anger shan’t be in vain! We defeated mkoloni in these Nyeri villages. You're devil incarnate, Mr. Ruto! You're evil, Mr. Ruto! You're desperate, Mr. Ruto! You hate us, Mr. Ruto! You're cornered, Mr. Ruto! Whatever you do, we shall defeat you, Mr. Ruto! Mkora wewe."

The former MP’s remarks highlight the growing political tensions in the Mt Kenya region, particularly following Gachagua’s recent fallout with the Kenya Kwanza leadership.

Kabando framed the church incident as part of a broader campaign of intimidation against Gachagua and his supporters.
