Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Friday officially released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, giving nearly one million candidates nationwide access to their exam performance.
Students can now check their results online through the official Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal at results.knec.ac.ke.
To access the results, candidates must enter their 11-digit index numbers and registered names exactly as submitted during the 2025 KCSE registration.
KNEC provides a simple step-by-step process:
First, students visit the KNEC website and navigate to the ‘KCSE Results’ menu.
Second, they input their 11-digit index number.
Third, they enter their registered name. Finally, candidates click ‘Submit’ to view the results on-screen, and they may download a copy for record-keeping.
For those without internet access, results can also be obtained via SMS.
Candidates can send their index numbers to the short code 20076 at a cost of Ksh25 per message.

KCSE results are graded on a scale from A to E, with special grades awarded in specific cases.
Grade X is assigned to candidates absent from the exam, Grade Y for involvement in examination irregularities, and Grade W indicates withheld results.
Education stakeholders have urged learners to check their results promptly and confirm their details to avoid discrepancies.
