Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County – President William Ruto on Thursday praised Kenya’s 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates following the release of the national examination results.

Speaking at Eldoret State Lodge, the President expressed satisfaction with the performance of nearly one million students who sat the exams.

President Ruto highlighted that 50 per cent of the candidates were girls, reflecting significant progress in gender parity.

He noted that 270,000 students attained a C+ grade and above, securing direct entry into universities across the country.

“This achievement demonstrates that our education system continues to nurture talented and hardworking young Kenyans ready to contribute to national development,” President Ruto said.

The remarks came as families and schools awaited the official announcement of results, with students preparing to plan their next academic steps.

Education stakeholders have lauded the Ministry of Education for maintaining high standards amid growing enrollment and infrastructural challenges.

President Ruto’s address underscores the government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education while ensuring quality and inclusivity.

Parents, teachers, and students across the country are celebrating the achievements of the 2025 KCSE cohort, with top performers expected to benefit from scholarships and national recognition programs.

The Ministry of Education officially released the results earlier today, marking the start of university placements and alternative training opportunities for thousands of Kenyan youths.
