Geoffrey Mosiria, Nairobi County CEC for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, rescued two vulnerable children found alone on the streets of Nairobi.
“I couldn’t look away. When I saw these children on the streets of Nairobi, I chose to act,” he wrote.
The second child, three-year-old Jose, was found barefoot, cold, and wandering alone around midnight, seemingly in search of help.
Mosiria stressed that his intervention was not charity but a matter of humanity.
“Children don’t belong on the streets, and as long as I can, I will stand for them,” he said.
Thousands of minors are exposed to unsafe conditions on the city’s streets, facing risks from exploitation, neglect, and abuse.
Mosiria’s intervention highlights the need for stronger systems to protect vulnerable children and ensure that authorities and communities take proactive steps to address the growing number of minors living and working on Nairobi’s streets.
