Jubilee Party’s appointment of Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta as Secretary General has come under scrutiny after political strategist Dennis Itumbi highlighted a factual error in the party’s announcement.
The statement praised his legal expertise, leadership in public institutions, and track record in governance and anti-corruption advocacy, framing him as a key figure in strengthening the party ahead of upcoming elections.
Reacting on social media, Itumbi congratulated the party but flagged the error, writing: “Congratulations Jubilee Party. But tafadhali, as you introduce your Secretary General, is it impossible to get it right? Ole Kenta has NEVER been Kajiado North MP.”
The comment drew attention to the importance of accuracy in political communication, especially in high-profile party announcements.
Ole Kenta, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi. He served two terms as Narok North MP under TNA before contesting the Narok County gubernatorial seat in the 2022 elections.
His leadership experience includes roles as Chairman of Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) and Director at the Geothermal Development Company (GDC).
Itumbi’s critique, however, has sparked discussions among political observers and the public, highlighting the challenge for political parties to maintain credibility and accuracy while making high-stakes announcements.
