Most students worry about exams and assignments, but Truphena Muthoni is rewriting the rules.

The 22-year-old revealed on Citizen TV Sunday night that she is still in school, even as she set a 72-hour tree-hugging world record.

Her disclosure has sparked admiration, showing that age and schooling are no barrier to global impact.

Muthoni told viewers that she had initially planned to break the record in Brazil at COP 30 but did not receive government support.

“When I was trying to achieve what I have already achieved, I did not get any support. I had requested support in different ways, but I did not get support from the Ministry of Environment,” she said.

Despite the setback, the student carried out the record in Kenya, hugging a tree nonstop for three days.

The stunt was designed to raise awareness about forest conservation and the protection of indigenous trees.

Her effort demonstrates how determination and creativity can overcome bureaucratic hurdles.

Muthoni, who also expresses herself through art and sustainable living, said she will continue advocating for forests while completing her studies.

Her achievement now serves as inspiration for students across Kenya, showing that education and activism can go hand in hand.
