Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has provided parents with a detailed update on Grade 10 placements for learners completing KJESA exams, outlining how to access joining instructions and review placement results.
A total of 355,457 review applications were submitted, with each learner allowed up to four requests.
Of these, 211,636 applications were approved, while the remainder were declined due to unavailable subject combinations or limited capacity in high-demand schools such as Alliance High, Kenya High, and Mangu High, each receiving over 20,000 applications for approximately 500 slots.
CS Ogamba confirmed that 88% of learners have now been successfully placed in line with their original or revised selections.
Parents whose children remain dissatisfied with their placement can submit further review applications from 6th to 9th January, 2026.
Regarding academic pathways, 51% of learners have been placed in STEM, 38% in Social Sciences, and 11% in Arts & Sports Science.
Joining instructions for all placed learners are now available for download on the official placement portal, effective today.
CS Ogamba urged parents to carefully check the portal to confirm their child’s placement, download joining instructions, and prepare for the transition to senior school.
The Ministry emphasized that the process remains transparent and fair, ensuring that learners are guided into pathways that best suit their interests and abilities.
This step-by-step guidance ensures parents are fully informed and can support their children as they move into the next level of their education.
