Nominated MP Joseph Denar Dies, UDA Issues Statement of Sympathy

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has issued a message of condolence following the death of Nominated Member of Parliament Joseph Hamisi Denar.

The party confirmed the legislator’s passing on Saturday, noting that he served under the Kenya Kwanza Coalition in the National Assembly. Details about the cause of death were not immediately made public.

In its statement, the UDA leadership said it received news of Denar’s death “with utter shock,” describing the MP as a committed public servant who carried out his duties with diligence.

Denar represented the coalition as a nominated legislator and was an active member of two key parliamentary committees: the Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture and the Select Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities.

According to the party, Denar was widely regarded as a principled and straightforward leader, attributes the statement highlighted as central to his service in Parliament.

His contributions in the committees frequently focused on cohesion, equitable opportunities, and the development of Kenya’s cultural and sports sectors.

The late MP hailed from Kinango Constituency in Kwale County, an area the party acknowledged in its message as deeply affected by his death.

UDA extended its sympathy to residents of the constituency, noting Denar’s close ties to the community and his longstanding involvement in local affairs prior to joining national politics.

The statement further expressed solidarity with Denar’s family, friends, and colleagues, emphasizing the party’s support during what it described as a difficult period of mourning.

“We pray that God grants them the strength and grace to bear the enormous loss,” the message read.
