Born in 1984 in Kiirita, Nyandarua County, Dr. Peter Nderitu Githaiga has built one of Kenya’s most extensive academic portfolios through discipline, consistency, and an enduring commitment to learning.
His journey reflects a rare blend of scholarship, professional training, and public service orientation.
Dr. Githaiga holds an exceptional array of qualifications: two bachelor’s degrees, two diplomas, two master’s degrees, and two PhDs.
He is also a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds multiple professional certifications, including CPS, CCP, CIFA, CPA, and AKIB.
His academic path spans nearly two decades. He earned a Bachelor of Business Management from Moi University between 2006 and 2010, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the same institution between 2011 and 2014.
During this period, he also pursued professional banking and finance training through the Kenya Institute of Bankers and KASNEB.
Driven by a passion for law and public policy, Dr. Githaiga completed a Bachelor of Laws at Moi University between 2013 and 2017 and later undertook the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law from 2021 to 2022.
He further expanded his academic scope with a Master’s degree in Public Policy.
His research credentials are equally notable. He completed a PhD in Finance at Moi University between 2015 and 2020 and later earned a second PhD in Tourism Management from the same institution between 2022 and 2025.
Along the way, Dr. Githaiga received several national academic awards, including KASNEB Best Student in Cost Accounting (2009), AKIB Best Student in Management of Organisations (2013), and KASNEB Best Student for Certified Credit Professionals (Sections 5 and 6 combined).
Currently, Dr. Githaiga serves as a lecturer at Moi University and has published 17 academic papers.
