A routine family trip to welcome a son home from the United States turned into a chilling scene for a Kuresoi family, who unwittingly became witnesses to the fatal crash of former politician Hon. Cyrus Jirongo.
The family was travelling in a white Toyota Probox registered KDJ 564E, which belongs to MCA William Mutai and is managed by his wife.
They had left Keringet late on December 12 to pick up their son from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi.
After the flight landed at 10:00 p.m., the family began the return journey shortly after midnight.
While passing through Karai, they stopped at Eagol Petrol Station to refill wiper fluid as visibility was poor.
There, they spotted Jirongo leaving the station heading toward Nairobi. Moments later, a loud bang rang out, and they saw a bus dragging Jirongo’s vehicle.
