Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has issued a pointed message to President William Ruto, urging urgent action on youth unrest and the struggling middle class as Kenya gears up for the 2027 elections.

The remarks followed his appearance at the Senior Counsel ceremony, where he said he had hoped to share his “Mambo Matatu” with the President.

Kibwana, posting on X, highlighted three urgent priorities. He warned Kenya to avoid the “2025 Tanzanian way,” hinting at potential political and economic pitfalls.

He also called for legal solutions to the youth unrest that rocked the nation between 2023 and 2025, describing it as a serious issue needing immediate attention.

Finally, he pushed for the revival of the Bottom-Up Economy to support hustlers and the middle class, emphasizing the need for policies that directly benefit ordinary Kenyans.

He revealed that the ceremonial schedule left him no time to discuss these points with President Ruto in person.

Kibwana’s comments add to growing calls for proactive measures to secure political stability, address youth frustrations, and boost economic inclusivity ahead of the next general election.
