Former Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa has mourned the passing of Supreme Court Justice Mohammed Khadhar Ibrahim, praising him as a trailblazer in Kenya’s fight for democracy.
Kabando described Ibrahim as one of the Young Turks of the 1990s, whose courage and vision inspired a generation determined to end KANU’s long-standing rule.
“Detained without trial, he stood firm, never wavering in his pursuit of justice and democratic ideals,” Kabando said.
Kabando referred to Ibrahim as a “second liberation hero,” whose principled leadership and resilience left a lasting legacy.
“Fare thee well, Mohammed Ibrahim. Your courage and dedication will continue to inspire generations,” he added.
Justice Ibrahim, who passed away on Wednesday, also represented the judiciary in the Judicial Service Commission, playing a key role in shaping reforms and upholding accountability in Kenya’s legal system.
