Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has once again taken aim at the government, accusing it of neglecting key promises that were meant to uplift farmers and improve public welfare.
In a detailed post shared on X, the outspoken legislator said she had repeatedly warned about flaws in major policy projects but was sidelined instead of being heard.
She claimed that her insistence on accountability in programs such as affordable housing and coffee debt relief cost her leadership positions in Parliament.
“I raised my voice when others chose silence,” she wrote, saying that her demand for coffee farmers to receive debt waivers was met with resistance, eventually leading to her removal as chairperson of the Coffee Caucus, which she founded to advocate for the sector.
Wamuchomba described herself as an independent-minded leader, stating that she speaks out of conviction rather than political alignment.
“I don’t seek political correctness but moral integrity,” she said, emphasizing that her focus is on citizens’ needs, not party politics.
The MP further questioned why some public programs remain unfulfilled, citing the stalled Linda Mama initiative, poor tea bonuses, and delayed road projects.
“Where is Linda Mama? Why are our roads still incomplete?” she posed in her post.
She also revisited her earlier criticism of the government’s housing agenda, saying her skepticism about its affordability led to her removal from a key committee that oversees the National Land Commission.
Her remarks reflect wider frustration over unmet pledges that continue to affect ordinary Kenyans.
Wamuchomba concluded her statement by calling for answers on recent cases of violence against women, including murders reported in Kware, Nairobi, urging investigators to act swiftly.
