Trump Brokers Historic First Phase Israel-Hamas Peace Deal, Hostages to Be Released

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of a peace plan he helped broker, signaling a potential turning point in the longstanding conflict in Gaza.

According to Trump, the agreement includes the release of all hostages currently held by Hamas and a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops to an agreed-upon line.

He described these measures as the first steps toward what he called a “strong, durable, and everlasting peace,” emphasizing that all parties would be treated fairly.

“This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding nations, and the United States of America,” Trump said in a statement.

He thanked mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their roles in facilitating the negotiations, calling the milestone “historic and unprecedented.”

The announcement comes amid two years of intensified conflict between Israel and Hamas, which have resulted in significant civilian and military casualties.

Trump’s involvement reflects a renewed U.S. diplomatic push to stabilize the region and bring about the safe return of hostages.

Officials say the implementation of the first phase is expected to begin immediately, with hostages released in the coming days and Israeli forces repositioning according to the agreed-upon boundaries.
