Oscar Sudi Questions Moha Jicho Pevu’s Loyalty Following Meeting With Gachagua

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has intensified political tensions within the Kenya Kwanza coalition after openly ridiculing Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, popularly known as Jicho Pevu, following the latter’s meeting with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In a statement posted on X, Sudi accused Mohamed Ali of shifting political allegiance, suggesting that his closeness to Gachagua was driven by personal gain rather than ideological alignment.

“I wonder how Wamunyoro, who failed to advise himself, can now purport to mentor Jicho Pevu alias Jicho Pesa,” Sudi wrote, in remarks that appeared to question both Gachagua’s credibility and Mohamed Ali’s intentions.

According to Sudi, the Nyali MP had expected “easy money” after the Kenya Kwanza government took office but was frustrated when those expectations were not met.

“The problem with Jicho Pesa is that he thought when we formed this government, he’d get a place to get free money, unaware that the government has its procedures,” Sudi claimed.

His comments come days after Mohamed Ali posted a photo enjoying tea with Gachagua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, describing them as “great, wise men.”

The post sparked speculation about emerging political alignments as the 2027 elections draw closer.

While Mohamed Ali has remained silent on Sudi’s criticism, the public exchange reveals the widening cracks within the ruling coalition, where loyalty to President William Ruto is increasingly being tested by shifting political friendships and perceived ambitions of key figures like Gachagua.

The remarks by Sudi, a close ally of the president, suggest growing unease in Ruto’s inner circle over MPs who appear to be gravitating toward Gachagua, further exposing internal friction within the coalition ahead of the next election cycle.
