Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua has marked former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 64th birthday with a nostalgic message recalling their shared political journey in 2002.
Mutua revealed that he once served as one of Kenyatta’s communication advisers during his first presidential bid under KANU.
Although the campaign ended in defeat to Mwai Kibaki of NARC, Mutua said he believed from the start that Kenyatta’s time would come.
“The year 2002: With my client Uhuru Kenyatta at Chancery House, Nairobi. I served as one of his communications advisors when he first ran for President.
We didn’t make it in that first attempt, but I told my candidate that he would one day become President,” Mutua shared in his message.
He went on to note that eleven years later, his prediction came true when Kenyatta won the presidency in 2013.
“The rest, as they say, is history! Happy birthday former President Uhuru Kenyatta,” he added.
Kenyatta, who served two terms before handing over power in 2022, has remained active in public life, particularly through his peace and mediation work in the region.
His office earlier today released a statement celebrating his leadership, describing him as a man of vision, resilience, and compassion.
The former president’s 64th birthday has not only rekindled fond memories of his early political years but also highlighted the enduring respect he commands across the country
