Former Interior CS Matiang’i Joins Kenyans in Celebrating Uhuru Kenyatta’s 64th Birthday

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has joined Kenyans in celebrating former President Uhuru Kenyatta as he turns 64 years old.

In a birthday message shared online, Matiang’i expressed his appreciation to Kenyatta for the opportunity to serve under his leadership, describing it as a period defined by transformation and dedication to public service.

He also extended his best wishes for the former president’s continued health and happiness.

“Happy birthday, Your Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH. I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served under your leadership and to have contributed to the shared vision of transformation and service delivery to our fellow citizens. Wishing you good health and many happy returns,” Matiang’i wrote.

Matiang’i, who was one of the key figures in Kenyatta’s administration, served in various senior roles including Cabinet Secretary for Education and later for Interior.

His strong working relationship with the former Head of State was often cited as a reflection of Kenyatta’s trust in his ability to deliver on government priorities.

The message came as Kenyans from different walks of life took to social media to celebrate the former president.

Many shared warm tributes highlighting his years of leadership, efforts to promote national unity, and ongoing involvement in regional peace initiatives since leaving office in 2022.

Earlier, the Office of the Fourth President also sent a statement marking the day, praising Kenyatta’s “vision, resilience, and compassion” as qualities that continue to inspire the nation.

As Kenyatta marks his 64th birthday, the outpouring of goodwill from former colleagues like Matiang’i and citizens alike underscores his enduring influence in Kenya’s political and public life.
