Denis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, has penned an emotional tribute to veteran politician Raila Odinga, reflecting on the enduring influence of the ODM leader.
In a message shared on X, Itumbi described Raila as a figure whose political vision transcended party lines, shaping a movement “expressed as the sweetness of oranges, but firmly rooted in many hearts.”
He noted that recent days have further highlighted why ODM has always represented more than a political party, emphasizing its identity as a genuine movement.
“It is now clear to me why ODM, did not have a party in the reading of its initials, it was indeed a MOVEMENT,” Itumbi wrote.
He added that he valued the few opportunities he had this year to sit, chat, and listen to Raila, reflecting on the personal lessons and inspiration he gained from these moments.
Itumbi concluded his message with a poetic farewell, saying, “My heart waves, like my hand does, GOODBYE. May God comfort family, friends, and Country.”
The tribute has resonated widely on social media, where many Kenyans have echoed sentiments of gratitude and admiration for Raila’s decades-long political journey.
