German Embassy to Host Concert Honoring Baba at Kenya National Theatre

The German Embassy will host a special concert at the Kenya National Theatre to honor Baba, a move that ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has described as a remarkable gesture of friendship between Germany and Kenya.

Sifuna revealed the news after meeting a delegation of German lawmakers who were on an official visit to the Kenyan Parliament.

He said the two nations share a deep partnership built over decades and are keen to strengthen cooperation through both political and cultural engagement.

“Germany and Kenya have had long-standing cooperation and we intend to cement this further through our respective Parliaments,” Sifuna said.

“As SG of ODM, I was happy to learn that the German Embassy has scheduled a concert in honor of Baba at the Kenya National Theatre. Thank you for the honor.”

According to officials familiar with the visit, the concert is part of ongoing cultural diplomacy initiatives by the German Embassy in Nairobi.

It will feature a mix of Kenyan and German performances celebrating leadership, unity, and the enduring friendship between the two countries.

The gesture has been welcomed by ODM members and Kenyans online, who praised the embassy for recognizing Baba’s contribution to Kenya’s political journey.

Many described the concert as a creative way to celebrate history while strengthening global ties.

The German parliamentary delegation also discussed ways to deepen cooperation in governance, trade, and youth empowerment.

Legislators from both countries expressed optimism that such exchanges would foster stronger partnerships beyond the political sphere.

The upcoming concert adds a cultural chapter to Kenya-Germany relations, reminding both nations that diplomacy extends beyond boardrooms and treaties.
