Gachagua Endorses Karisa Kenga as Party Candidate for Magarini By-Election

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unveiled Hon. Karisa Kenga Stanley as the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming Magarini Constituency by-election scheduled for November 25, 2027.

In a statement shared on X, Gachagua described Kenga as a seasoned grassroots leader with a long history of service to the people of Magarini.

He urged the candidate to remain close to the community and prioritize their needs throughout the campaign period.

“At our party headquarters today, we unveiled our Magarini Constituency candidate for the November 25th by-election. Hon. Karisa Kenga Stanley is a strong leader who has stood with the people of Magarini for a long time,” Gachagua said. “I urge you to be with the people, listen to them, and victory will be yours.”

The unveiling ceremony, held at the party headquarters in Nairobi, was attended by senior party officials, including regional coordinators from Kilifi County.

Gachagua said the selection of Kenga reflected the party’s commitment to strengthening its presence at the Coast and empowering leaders who resonate with local voters.

Kenga, a longtime political figure in Magarini, welcomed the endorsement, pledging to champion development, transparency, and inclusive leadership if elected.

The Magarini seat fell vacant following the nullification of the 2022 election results, prompting a by-election expected to draw interest from major political parties.

Campaigns are expected to kick off in the coming weeks, setting the stage for a competitive contest that could reshape political alignments in Kilifi County.
