Pauline Njoroge Opens Up: Uhuru Paid Her Legal Bills After 2023 Malindi Arrest

Political blogger Pauline Njoroge has lifted the lid on what went down during her dramatic 2023 arrest in Malindi, revealing how former president Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee deputy party leader Beatrice Gambo came to her rescue.

In a candid social media post, Pauline recalled how the two leaders stood firmly by her side at a time she says tested both her strength and dignity.

According to her, Uhuru went beyond political loyalty and personally stepped in to sort out her legal fees.
“You need a boss like Uhuru, who steps in to cover your legal and other related expenses,” she wrote.

On the other hand, Beatrice Gambo is said to have shown up with a more personal touch.

Pauline narrated how Gambo drove from Watamu to Malindi carrying essentials like tissue, wipes, a toothbrush, and deodorant to ensure she remained comfortable while in custody.
“You also need a friend like our Deputy Party Leader Beatrice Gambo,” Pauline added.

The blogger was arrested in July 2023 over allegations of being in possession of narcotics, a case that sparked heated online reactions given her outspoken political stance.

She spent two nights behind bars before being taken to court, where the case later collapsed due to lack of evidence.
