Adani Whistleblower Explodes: Calls Raila “Conman of the Century” Over JKIA Deal

The war of words over the controversial Adani-JKIA airport deal has taken a fiery turn after whistleblower Nelson Amenya lashed out at an ODM party leader, branding him the “conman of the century.”

The ODM chief had earlier claimed that those opposing the Adani deal were simply “interested in the tender” and had fueled protests to block it.

But Amenya, who first blew the whistle on the murky agreement, came out swinging on X, dismissing the remarks as desperate lies.

“I have never been paid to expose this deal,” Amenya declared, insisting that every red flag he raised has since been proven true. He blasted the ODM leader for trying to shift blame instead of addressing the corruption fears around the deal.

According to Amenya, JKIA is already a profitable and highly competitive hub that doesn’t need backroom deals. He questioned why a proper public tender wasn’t conducted if the project truly had Kenya’s best interests at heart.

“Why don’t they open up bidding if they care for the airport? This smokescreen is all about protecting vested interests,” he wrote.

The whistleblower’s rebuttal turned personal when he told the ODM leader: “Old man, you are in your sunset years. Spend them with your family, not destroying our future.”

The Adani-JKIA saga has been one of Kenya’s most divisive debates, with Amenya painting it as a corrupt scheme to hand over a national asset without scrutiny.
