Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has announced the death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, after she reportedly suffered a heart attack on Saturday morning, August 15, 2026.
In a statement shared on Saturday morning, Khalwale said Gloria had suddenly collapsed before her death, describing the development as a devastating loss to his family.
“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack,” Khalwale said.
He identified Gloria as the mother of eight children, naming them as Engine Kukaste Khalwale, Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale and Maura Makatse Khalwale.
The announcement comes as the family mourns the sudden death of Gloria, who was among Khalwale’s wives in his publicly known polygamous family.
Khalwale has previously spoken openly about his family life and disclosed that he had four wives and 17 children.
His first wife, Adelaide Khalwale, died in 2019, while Josephine Umina Khalwale, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale and Diana Moragwa Khalwale have been identified in previous reports as his other wives.
Gloria was previously reported to have been the mother of eight of Khalwale’s children, making her the mother of the largest number of children in his family.
Khalwale has over the years shared aspects of his family life publicly, including celebrating the academic achievements of his children and speaking about the responsibilities of raising a large family.
