Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has reacted to ODM party leader Oburu Odinga’s recent statement urging the government to investigate the disappearance of Hon. Raphael Tuju, questioning Odinga’s influence and political positioning.

Oburu Odinga had called on the government and relevant investigative bodies to act swiftly and transparently regarding Tuju’s disappearance.

He expressed deep concern over the matter, describing it as urgent and stressing the need for accountability.

Odinga emphasized that the issue should be handled with transparency and diligence, framing his intervention as part of his broader commitment to social justice, civic responsibility, and national unity.

Responding to this, Amisi questioned the credibility of Odinga’s call, pointing to what he perceives as contradictions in Odinga’s influence.

“Dr. Oburu is urging the government to investigate the disappearance of Hon. Tuju, and he says he is in the government and has power. Tena anasema akiwa na Raisi Ruto kwa meza moja. Wonders will never cease!” Amisi said, highlighting skepticism over Odinga’s alignment with the current administration while advocating for accountability.

Amisi further projected his party’s vision for Kenya, linking the Tuju case to broader political objectives.

“We will form a government in 2027, and you will understand what it means for Kenya to have a proper functioning government,” he stated, framing Odinga’s intervention as symbolic rather than effective.

Political analysts note that Odinga’s statement drew attention because of the high-profile nature of the Tuju case.

While Odinga emphasized urgent investigation and civic responsibility, Amisi’s response reflects partisan interpretations, raising questions about political influence, alignment, and the credibility of calls for accountability in Kenya’s current political climate.

The differing reactions to Tuju’s disappearance highlight the tensions within Kenya’s political landscape, as leaders balance public concern, party interests, and national governance narratives.
