Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to a stronger, more inclusive, and effective multilateral system, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said during the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting in London.

Addressing fellow ministers, Mudavadi highlighted Kenya’s support for strategic reforms aimed at repositioning the Commonwealth.

These reforms include streamlining membership processes and enhancing engagement with non-member partners to address emerging global challenges, he explained.

The meeting also focused in boosting the Commonwealth’s economic diplomacy.

Discussions centered on reducing trade barriers, expanding investment flows, and adapting to shifting global trade patterns. Mudavadi emphasized the need for urgent reforms in the global financial architecture to ensure equitable economic opportunities for all member states.

“These discussions will inform the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting scheduled for November in Antigua and Barbuda under the theme ‘Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth,’” Mudavadi noted.

In addition, he extended Kenya’s invitation to member states to participate in the 11th Ocean Conference, set to take place in Kenya in June 2026.

He also reaffirmed the country’s readiness to host the Commonwealth Ocean Meeting, highlighting Kenya’s commitment to maritime and environmental initiatives.

Mudavadi was joined by Ambassador Maurice Makoloo, who serves as Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, in representing the country at the high-level discussions.

Kenya’s proactive stance at the London meeting underscores its push for collaborative multilateralism, economic growth, and environmental stewardship, signaling the country’s growing influence in shaping Commonwealth policies and global diplomacy.
