South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has announced the resumption of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots sensitization program across Gusii, starting 26th February 2026 and continuing until 15th March 2026.
The program will cover all 65 wards in the region, aiming to engage party members ahead of the party polling station elections scheduled for 28th March 2026.
Osoro urged party members to observe peace and maintain order throughout the exercise, emphasizing the importance of a harmonious political environment during the preparatory period.
In addition to the political mobilization, Osoro revealed that President William Ruto is expected to visit the Gusii region between 15th and 20th March 2026 to launch a series of developmental projects.
Among the key initiatives is the construction of Suneka Airstrip, which is expected to improve air connectivity and support local economic activities.
The MP also highlighted major road infrastructure projects set to commence or finalize during this period. Roads slated for immediate construction include Etago-Ekona-Geteni-Nyamaiya (24 km), Nyamarambe-Esaka-Nyabigena (12 km), and Mochengo-Ayora-Maroo-Ndonyo (16 km).
These projects are currently at the final award stage, with expectations that construction contracts will be concluded before the President’s visit.
Further, Osoro announced plans to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) campus in South Mugirango and to initiate several housing projects, aimed at improving access to healthcare education and affordable housing in the constituency.
