Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across several counties on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, as the utility undertakes routine maintenance and system upgrades to improve power reliability and support new connections.
In Nairobi, the outage will affect Mutuini, Kabiria and parts of Dagoretti from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Areas along Dagoretti Road, Rhino Park Road, Farm Lane, Karinde Shopping Centre, Nine Sisters, Gitiba Primary, Muhugu Park and Mama Ngina Children’s Home are among those listed. Parts of Parklands including City Park Drive, Serengeti Avenue, Naivasha Avenue and surrounding areas will also be affected.
In Kisii County, electricity will be unavailable in Kiaruta, Matongo and Nyawekoa, affecting sections of Gesonso, Kiaruta Dispensary, Waterpark, CITAM Church and St. Peters School. Migori County outages will affect Ochuna and Olando trading centres, while in Homa Bay County, Kandiege and Masogo areas including Nyaola, Ngula, Kodula, Bala, Opujo, Kajimo, Okiki Amayo, Adhiro, Ouru, Kanyamfwa, Kotonje, Alum Beach and Ajigo will experience interruptions.
In Makueni County, the Wote area will be affected, including Itangini, Kilala, Mukuyuni, Kiniu, Kyambalasi and Kikima markets. Kitui County outages will cover Mutitu, Endau and Malalani areas such as Mwambiu, Nyaani, Kalua and Kisalu Yula-Mbu.
In the North Rift, Uasin Gishu County will experience interruptions around Annex Centre and Sukunanga, affecting Toyota Kenya Annex, KENHA offices and nearby institutions.
Parts of Swan Centre in Kajiado County will also be affected, while Kakamega County outages will impact Shikhoti and surrounding areas including Maraba, Mutsuma and Lwanda.
Central Kenya counties are also listed. In Nyeri County, Gikondi Market and surrounding areas including Mukurweini Technical and Sister Irene Secondary School will be affected.
Kirinyaga County outages will impact Difathers Market, Kathiriku and Riagicheru. In Murang’a County, interruptions will affect Gacharage Market, Ruchu Girls area, Munyori and Kiguoya markets.
In Embu County, Umau and Kianjiru Hill Top areas including Kiritiri Police Station, Mutus and Safaricom Kianjiru will be affected. Meanwhile, Laikipia County outages in Naibor and Juakali will run from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Kenya Power has advised residents and businesses to plan ahead, unplug sensitive appliances and treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period.
