Hope After Ruin: How One Night Changed Kibet’s Path to Recovery

The day I lost my job still feels unreal.

My name is Kibet, and until September 2025, I worked with the Uasin Gishu County Government. I earned a decent salary of KSh 100,000 and took pride in my work. I was known for meeting deadlines, preparing thorough reports, and maintaining professionalism.

My boss respected my effort, and I believed I had built a secure future for my family.

Then, without warning, everything changed.

My supervisor suddenly became hostile. Meetings turned confrontational. Reports that had always been approved were now rejected without explanation. He seemed constantly irritated by my presence and often tried to provoke conflict.

I revised my work repeatedly, searching for mistakes, but I could not identify any failure on my part. I was still delivering my best.

In a matter of weeks, I was summoned before the County Public Service Board.

I expected to defend myself.

Instead, I was handed a termination letter.

Others were allowed time to explain themselves and were spared disciplinary action. When my turn came, I was not given the opportunity to speak. I was ordered to vacate county housing within 24 hours.

I left the office numb.

Without a salary, my savings disappeared quickly. The stress at home grew unbearable. Four months later, my wife left with our five-year-old child. She did not tell me where she was going. Later, I learned she had married a wealthy farmer in Turbo. That news broke me completely.

I had lost my job, my family, and my dignity.

Rent arrears piled up. The landlord’s patience ran out, and one day I returned to find my house locked. With nowhere to go, I wandered the streets until nightfall. A watchman at a local supermarket took pity on me and allowed me to shelter near the entrance after closing time.

That night, sleep refused to come.

To distract myself from my thoughts, I connected my phone to the supermarket Wi-Fi. I scrolled aimlessly until I stumbled upon a website belonging to Dr. Bokko.

I cannot fully explain it, but something shifted inside me. As I read about healing and restoration services, I felt a strange calm settle over me.

For months, my life had spiraled beyond explanation — sudden hostility at work, dismissal without a hearing, family collapse, and relentless misfortune. It felt like I was trapped in a cycle of suffering.

I sent a message.

I explained everything — the job loss, my wife leaving, the endless setbacks. The response I received did not dismiss my pain. Instead, it examined the patterns surrounding my downfall and offered a path toward restoration.

For the first time in months, I felt heard.

That night marked the beginning of my recovery. The journey was not instant, but step by step, I regained clarity and strength. I began rebuilding my confidence and slowly repositioned myself to seek new opportunities.

The losses I suffered left deep scars, but they no longer define me.

Today, I understand that my life did not end when I lost everything. It entered a difficult chapter — one that forced me to rediscover resilience, hope, and the courage to begin again.

I was cleaned of the bad patterns and protection for myself was offered.
