A widow in Nairobi continues to face harassment and threats after her land was allegedly seized by an individual who has ignored two court orders, Nairobi County CEC for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has revealed.

“It is deeply heartbreaking and unacceptable that this lady continues to suffer at the hands of a ruthless land grabber who has blatantly defied two court orders,” Mosiria said.

According to Mosiria, the woman, whose late husband had built the home, was even offered Ksh 1 million to relinquish the property.

“They even attempted to bribe her with Ksh 1 million to surrender her land – land that rightfully belongs to her – after illegally grabbing it and demolishing the home her late husband had worked so hard to build before his passing,” he stated.

Mosiria stressed that the widow has all the rightful ownership documents and that neighbors can confirm the identity of the alleged land grabber.

“There is absolutely no reason why justice should be delayed. I strongly call upon the Kenya Police Service Inspector General and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to urgently intervene, enforce the court orders, protect her life, and ensure she gets the justice she deserves,” Mosiria urged.

He condemned the threats and intimidation, emphasizing: “No widow should be bullied, threatened, or robbed of her home. The rule of law must prevail.”
