The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has intensified its crackdown on criminal networks in the Coast region, leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of illicit items.

In a statement, the DCI confirmed that detectives acting on credible intelligence arrested Mohamed Omar Deya, popularly known as “Babanginda,” who was found with three rounds of ammunition and a white powdery substance suspected to be narcotics.

Further operations led to the arrest of Hanif Iqbal Sharbaz and Wisdorn Ndoro Mwalimu. Both were discovered in possession of forged land-related documents, alongside other exhibits believed to be tied to criminal syndicates operating in the region.

In a separate raid, officers apprehended Priscila Lodukae.

A subsequent search of her residence, conducted with John Wachira Wanguno, resulted in the recovery of several packages of suspected cannabis sativa and cash in various denominations, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

The DCI reiterated that combating crime, drug trafficking, and substance abuse remains a top priority in the Coast region and nationwide.

Citizens are urged to cooperate with authorities by reporting suspicious activities anonymously to enhance public safety and disrupt criminal networks.

This latest operation is part of an ongoing intelligence-led initiative aimed at dismantling organized crime, safeguarding communities, and ensuring the rule of law in coastal counties.

Authorities stressed that continued vigilance by both law enforcement and the public is critical in addressing emerging security threats and curbing criminal activities that have long undermined development and safety in the region.
