A landlord in Lavington has finally found relief after months of stress and legal battles triggered by false accusations from a neighboring property owner.

The saga began at the start of this year when the elderly neighbor reportedly started raising complaints against the landlord, who rents out bedsitters on his plot.

According to the landlord, the neighbor accused him of failing to hire a garbage collection company to manage waste from his tenants.

“This was despite the fact that the garbage truck comes every Wednesday to collect the dirt,” he said. The neighbor took the matter to the county council, which, without conducting proper investigations, imposed a fine of KSh 200,000. “It was extremely stressful because I knew these claims were untrue,” he recalled.

The situation escalated when the neighbor claimed that the landlord had interfered with the property boundary while constructing his houses.

She reportedly filed a case in court over the alleged boundary encroachment, catching the landlord off guard. Faced with a legal battle, he was compelled to hire a lawyer at high costs to defend himself.

The prolonged dispute, he said, caused him mild but persistent stress, affecting his peace of mind and day-to-day life.

Seeking a resolution outside conventional legal channels, the landlord reached out to a friend who had previously used the services of a traditional healer known as Dr. Bokko.

After contacting Dr. Bokko through the referral, the landlord says the matter was handled swiftly and effectively.

“The issue was resolved decently, and without further escalation,” he noted.

By mid-February, the elderly neighbor reportedly withdrew the court case, signaling a turn in the months-long ordeal.

The landlord has since learned that the neighbor is reportedly seeking an apology for the false accusations she made against him.

He expressed relief at the development, stating that it had restored his sense of peace and order.

“This experience has been a reminder of the stress that false allegations can bring and the importance of seeking timely assistance, whether legal or otherwise,” the landlord said.

He added that while the legal system can provide recourse, sometimes alternative solutions, including mediation and traditional approaches, can resolve conflicts more amicably.

Neighbors and landlords in urban areas like Lavington are often faced with disputes over property boundaries, tenant management, and municipal compliance.

In this case, the landlord’s proactive steps, combined with unconventional assistance, prevented the situation from escalating further.

As the dust settles, the landlord hopes his experience serves as a cautionary tale about the emotional and financial toll of false accusations, as well as the potential for resolution through both formal and informal channels.

He also looks forward to rebuilding a more peaceful relationship with his neighbors while continuing to manage his rental properties efficiently. ...CONTINUE READING
