Mumias East MP Peter Salaysa has added his voice to the growing public exchange between businessman Oketch Salah and Winnie Odinga, following the latter’s interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday night.

During the interview, Winnie questioned Salah’s repeated claims of being close to her late father, Raila Odinga, including his assertion that he was Raila’s “adopted son,” particularly in the years after Raila’s death in 2025.

Salaysa, speaking on X, framed the unfolding saga as guided by Raila’s spirit.

“The spirit of Baba one day will make Oketch Salah go mad and spill the beans on what exactly happened. Baba was a spirit, and I like the conversation Salah is leading us to. Let the spirit of Baba continue leading us to the truth,” he wrote.

Salaysa emphasized his trust in Winnie and Raila’s son, Junior, describing them as the “true DNA of Baba” who cannot betray his legacy.

Oketch Salah responded to Winnie’s remarks, saying he remained silent out of respect for Her Excellency Ambassador Ida Min Piny from Migori.

“Because of the respect I have for Her Excellency, I chose to remain quiet. That was deliberate and personal,” Salah stated.

He added that his past claims about his final moments with Raila were genuine, describing them as “real, painful, and lived,” and promised a more detailed response in an upcoming interview.

The exchange has reignited public debate over Raila Odinga’s legacy and the legitimacy of personal claims to his inner circle.

Winnie Odinga had questioned why Salah continued to publicize his association with her father, framing it as an unnecessary distraction years after Raila’s passing.

Salaysa’s remarks suggest that the truth about Raila’s final days may yet emerge, with the lawmaker urging the public to trust in the late leader’s guiding influence.

Salah’s forthcoming interview is expected to draw significant attention, potentially clarifying his role and experiences with Raila Odinga.
