"The Man Who Shot DJ Evolve Can't Be ODM Party Leader or ODM Governor" - Tony Gachoka

Media personality Tony Gachoka has reignited debate over Embakasi East MP Babu Owino’s suitability for leadership in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), citing the controversial DJ Evolve shooting incident.

In a post on X, Gachoka demanded accountability, stating, “The man who shot DJ Evolve must be arrested.

Babu Owino is unfit to be the Party Leader of ODM or the Governor of Nairobi. He is wanted for attempted murder.”

Gachoka’s remarks came shortly after Owino publicly announced his intentions to vie

for the position of ODM Party Leader. 

The media figure also expressed dissatisfaction with other prominent leaders, saying he cannot stand Oburu Odinga or Deputy President William Ruto.

Despite his criticisms, Gachoka praised Winnie Odinga, describing her as “my hero.” He further referenced a past confrontation involving Uasin Gishu Senator Oscar Sudi, adding: “The same way I told Oscar Sudi at Gideon Moi’s farm, I am telling Babu,” suggesting that his message to Owino is a continuation of prior political warnings.

The statement has triggered widespread discussion on social media, highlighting concerns over accountability, leadership suitability, and public trust.
