Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has publicly accused Muhoho Kenyatta, brother of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, of controlling funds meant for Azimio election agents during the 2022 General Election.
In a statement on X, Junet defended himself against claims by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and insisted that he had no role in the mismanagement of the agents’ money.

He said the funds were released by former President Uhuru Kenyatta directly to Muhoho, who then appointed Peter Mburu to manage recruitment and payments.
Junet described Mburu as an aide of Uhuru Kenyatta who claimed to be an IT expert capable of safeguarding the election results from alleged manipulation by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
He further alleged that the coordination of agent payments took place from a restricted Westlands office in Nairobi, which was inaccessible even to Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
According to Junet, despite the funds being released, no agents were ultimately deployed in critical regions such as Mt. Kenya and Luo Nyanza.
He insisted that this was a “long con game” orchestrated by Uhuru’s inner circle.
The MP defended his loyalty to Raila Odinga, noting that he was appointed Leader of Minority in the National Assembly as recognition of his service and fidelity.
He called on Muhoho Kenyatta, Peter Mburu, and Sifuna to publicly clarify their roles in the handling of the funds.
Junet concluded by emphasizing the need for transparency, arguing that Kenyans deserve to know who controlled the agents’ money, who failed to manage it properly, and ultimately, who is accountable for the alleged failures during the 2022 election.
This statement has intensified scrutiny on the role of Uhuru Kenyatta’s inner circle in the party’s electoral operations, raising fresh questions over financial accountability within Azimio during Kenya’s last general election.
