The State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy has released an updated disbursement schedule for the Nyota Project’s Business Support Component. Public Service Secretary (PS) Fikirini Jacobs confirmed that beneficiaries of the Business Start-up Grant should take note of the new dates and venues.
According to the notice, the disbursement exercises will be presided over by President Dr. William Ruto.
The first session is scheduled for 22nd January 2026 in Meru, targeting beneficiaries from Embu, Meru, and Tharaka Nithi counties.
The second session will take place on 27th January 2026 in Kilifi, covering beneficiaries from Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River counties.
The final announced session is set for 28th January 2026 in Mombasa, where beneficiaries from Taita Taveta, Kwale, and Mombasa counties will receive their grants.
PS Jacobs noted that disbursement dates and venues for other counties, including Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira, will be communicated at a later date.
The Nyota Project, a flagship initiative under the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, aims to support young entrepreneurs with seed capital to establish and expand their businesses.
The Business Start-up Grant is intended to strengthen youth-led enterprises and promote economic participation across Kenya.
Beneficiaries are advised to closely follow official communication channels for updates and ensure they attend the scheduled sessions in their respective counties.
The government emphasized that adherence to the revised schedule is critical to ensure smooth and timely disbursement of funds.
The announcement underlines the administration’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering a conducive environment for small and medium-sized enterprises, aligning with broader national economic goals.
