Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has launched a scathing critique of the Kenya Kwanza coalition, accusing the ruling party of abandoning the very promises it sold to Kenyans during the 2022 campaigns.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Nyoro said his support for the government is no longer unconditional.

“They betrayed their own promises. When we were campaigning, I was clear about our agenda. It is the party that shifted from what we promised the people,” Nyoro said.

The legislator argued that the question of loyalty should be directed at the party’s leadership, not himself.

Nyoro singled out economic policy as a key area of concern.

“We promised Kenyans that we would not continue with excessive borrowing, yet today the government is borrowing even more than before,” he stated, framing his criticism around what he calls a betrayal of public trust.

The MP, known for his outspoken views, emphasized that his criticisms are rooted in principle rather than politics.

Nyoro’s remarks come at a time when public debates about Kenya’s growing debt levels and fiscal management are intensifying.

Political observers suggest that his outspoken stance could fuel discussions within the ruling coalition and potentially influence younger MPs and voters.

For now, Ndindi Nyoro appears determined to hold the government accountable, insisting that citizens deserve honesty and consistency from leaders they trusted at the ballot box.
