Mudavadi Hosts German Foreign Minister in Celebration of Bilateral Partnership

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday evening hosted a special reception to welcome Germany’s Foreign Affairs Minister, H.E. Dr. Johann Wadephul, marking his first official visit to Kenya. 

The event celebrated the enduring partnership between the two nations, grounded in shared values and a commitment to improving the lives of citizens.

Speaking at the reception, CS Mudavadi described the gathering as “an evening of meaningful reflection and powerful conversations,” noting the importance of strong bilateral ties in fostering sustainable development, trade, and cultural exchange.

The reception, graciously hosted at the residence of Germany’s Ambassador to Kenya, Sebastian Groth, brought together German nationals living in Kenya, Kenyan friends of Germany, members of the business and investment community, civil society, academia, and the media. 

Mudavadi emphasized that these people-to-people connections form the foundation of the growing cooperation between the two countries.

Key government officials present included Dr. Singoei Korir, Principal Secretary at the State Department for Foreign Affairs; Amb. Stella Mokaya Orina, Kenya’s Ambassador to Germany; and Ms. Judy Njau, Deputy Director-General of the Europe and Commonwealth Directorate.

CS Mudavadi lauded the continued engagement between Kenyan and German institutions, highlighting its role in expanding opportunities in trade, education, and innovation. 

He noted that the visit of H.E. Dr. Wadephul provides a platform for deepening collaboration across multiple sectors and strengthening diplomatic ties.

The Kenyan government affirmed its commitment to leveraging these partnerships to benefit citizens while enhancing regional and global cooperation, with the evening serving as a clear reflection of the growing strength and depth of Kenya-Germany relations.
