Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has expressed his admiration after attending a religious gathering led by controversial preacher David Owuor in Nakuru.
Speaking after the event, Salasya said, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. So blessed to attend the pastors conference of Repentance and Holiness ministry in Nakuru. I am blessed indeed this evening.”
The event, organized by Owuor’s Repentance and Holiness Ministry, drew pastors and congregants from across the country for a night of prayers, teachings, and spiritual reflections.
Salasya’s participation has, however, drawn mixed reactions from Kenyans.
Some social media users criticized the MP for associating with a preacher known for his controversial statements and activities.

Others lauded Salasya for being strategic in his political engagement, noting that connecting with religious leaders remains a key avenue for building influence and visibility in the community.
Salasya, known for his active engagement in faith-based initiatives, described the experience as spiritually uplifting and emphasized the importance of grounding leadership in moral and spiritual values.
The episode underscores the continued intersection of faith and politics in Kenya, where politicians’ public participation in religious events often elicits both scrutiny and support.
