The National Police Service in Mandera East Sub-County has arrested a suspected drug dealer and recovered a cache of narcotics during a routine patrol earlier today.
According to the police, the suspect was found carrying 50 small rolled bundles of cannabis hidden inside a small bag.
Officers also recovered a machete concealed on the individual’s back, which has been seized as evidence alongside the drugs.
“The suspect is currently in our custody and will be arraigned in court as investigations continue,” a police statement posted on X read.
Authorities confirmed that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes in Mandera County.
