A Kenyan woman has shared a dramatic account of how her marriage ended on the very day she was supposed to pay dowry, following a mishap during a traditional ceremony game.
She described the scene at her home, bustling with relatives preparing food, ironing clothes, and styling hair, with villagers helping in the kitchen and fetching water.
The celebration seemed perfect until her fiancé, described as arriving in a sleek black Prado with a lorry carrying eight “grade cows,” participated in a game that would change everything.

During the game, the bridegroom was to identify his bride among several women by looking at their feet.
According to Kiumbe, her husband touched the hem of her lesso but inexplicably moved on to another woman, revealing the wrong face as the crowd’s cheers turned to boos.
Villagers demanded a fine of KSh 10,000, and confusion quickly escalated.
In a shocking turn, her husband and his entourage reportedly left in haste, driving off in the Prado and lorry, leaving Kiumbe and her family stunned and embarrassed.
Even the cows in the lorry were said to be frightened by the hasty departure.
“Even if it’s you, can you allow games next time?” she asked her followers, warning others against incorporating similar activities in traditional dowry ceremonies.
