When we began renovating my late grandfather’s house, I expected dust, broken tiles, and old furniture.
What I did not expect was to uncover something that would change how I saw my family forever.
Behind a cracked wall in the back bedroom, a faded photograph slipped out and landed at my feet.
The photo showed a woman holding a baby. The shocking part was not the image itself but the date and names scribbled behind it. The date did not match any known birth in our family.
