United Green Movement (UGM) presidential candidate and former Chief Justice, David Maraga, has announced that his campaign has so far raised KES 7,745,788.04 from 1,834 supporters across the country, as he lays the groundwork for his 2027 presidential bid.
In a statement on Thursday, Maraga expressed particular gratitude to Kenyans living abroad, whose contributions of over Sh6 million have significantly bolstered his campaign resources.
The funds, he said, will be deployed in a transparent and accountable manner to drive civic engagement initiatives across Kenya.
“This support is a testament to the shared vision of a Kenya that upholds constitutionalism, civic responsibility, and active citizen participation,” Maraga said.
“We are especially focused on engaging young voters as part of our target to mobilize 15 million Gen Z Kenyans under the #GenZ15MillionStrong initiative.”
The former Chief Justice also announced the launch of the #UkatibaCaravan, a nationwide campaign that will visit counties to educate citizens on voter registration, constitutional rights, and the importance of participating in the democratic process.
The initiative aims to strengthen youth involvement in the 2027 elections while promoting civic awareness and accountability.
Maraga urged Kenyans to join the #UkatibaMovement by contributing financially to sustain the caravan and other campaign activities.
Donations can be made via M-Pesa, credit card, PayPal, or Stripe at donations.davidmaraga.com.
The fundraising milestone marks an early boost for Maraga’s campaign, reflecting growing public interest in alternative political leadership ahead of the next general elections.
